Are you ready to take your Doulagivers® training and services to the NEXT LEVEL?
Want to serve the elderly before and through the End-Of-Life?
A Doulagivers® Specialist is someone who has taken all three Doulagivers® award-winning trainings and becomes certified as an:
☆ Elder Care Doula
☆ Care Consultant Doula
☆ End of Life Doula
A Doulagivers® Specialist plans and coordinates the care of the elderly to improve their quality of life on a daily basis and to maintain their independence.
The Doulagivers® Specialist also establishes a trusted relationship to be able to be present and support both the patient and family during the End of Life process.
By working with seniors, helping them plan their wishes, and being a trusted companion for them as they reach the End of Life, the Doulagivers® Specialist is able to care for the elderly, help with all end of life paperwork and plans, and be there to care for the client as an End-Of-Life Doula.
Why all three certifications?
We are currently at the beginning of the “Silver Tsunami” and seniors will need our help more than at any other time in our history. Because a strong bond of trust, care and concern is created when supporting the elderly as their lives are transitioning, it’s only a natural fit that they would turn to those they trust FIRST as they will need help in all three aspects of their lives – day to day support, putting their affairs in order and the End of Life.
Being a Doulagivers® Specialist, certified in all three areas, will make you the go-to person to offer a complete, well-rounded care service.

Hello, my name is Suzanne O’Brien, RN....
I am passionate about helping teach families and others the life-changing skill of how to care for their loved ones and community members at the end of life.
In 2012, I went on a self-paid volunteer hospice trip to Zimbabwe, Africa. This trip changed my life. The people of Zimbabwe are so lovely and did not have much in terms of material things or healthcare. The average age of life for a female is 42 years old. It was on this trip that I saw people being trained to “sit” with the person who was dying and “guide” them through the end of life journey. Without the luxury of medications and equipment, this concept was so effective. This reminded me of The Birthing “Doula” concept and when I came back to the US, The Doulagivers® End-Of-Life Doula Training was born.
Elder Care Doulas are specifically trained to provide holistic (physical, emotional, and spiritual) care for the elderly. An Elder Care Doula can care for your aging seniors by simply being a companion through the aging process, as well as by providing ongoing support to both the patient and their families at the time throughout the end-of-life process. What you will learn:
Building the Trust
Finding out what matters most to the person she/he is caring for
Creating an Action Plan
Doulagivers® Care Consultant Doula
Having been trained in the end of life planning processes, Doulagivers® Care Consultants can help individuals create a personal plan for the future to include advance directives, living plans, and family mediation. What you will learn:
How to help individuals make an end of life living plan
How to explain what advance directives are
How to complete Advance Care Planning Documentation
How to facilitate family meetings
Help your client discuss their wishes with their family and health care provider
Doulagivers® End-Of-Life Doula
An End of Life Doula is a non-medical person trained to care for someone holistically (physically, emotionally, and spiritually) at the end of life. End-Of-Life Doulas are also known around the world as: end of life coaches, soul midwives, transition guides, death coaches, death doulas, doula to the dying, end of life doulas, death midwives, thanadoula, and end of life guides. What you will learn:

Join the THOUSANDS of people who have already been through this life-changing program.
In 2014, the National Institutes of Health released a report Dying in America in which they discussed the future of end of life care. This report declared that there is a need to move towards: - person-centered, family-oriented end of life care models - an increase in education and higher standards for Advance Care Planning - better trained end of life care providers - revamped policies and payment systems designed to support high-quality end of life care Many End of Life Care experts are in agreement that over the course of the next decade there is going to be a necessity to expand alternative care services in order to accommodate the aging Baby Boomer generation and keep people at home during end of life (rather than residential care facilities). End of Life Doulas are non-medical persons trained to care for someone holistically (physically, emotionally, and spiritually) at the end of life and are going to prove an intricate part of reshaping end-of-life care for the future.
THE ANSWER: END-OF-LIFE DOULAS AND DOULAGIVERS® SPECIALISTS. THE NEW PROFESSION OF NON-MEDICAL HEALTHCARE
You’re probably saying to yourself, “I know I want to become a Doulagivers® Certified Specialist but what’s my investment?”
I want to make learning these skills as easy and affordable as possible so your decision is an easy one to make.
The true value of the materials in incalculable because of the type of value you’ll be bringing to people’s lives. While keeping full integrity, I could easily set the investment amount up to $5,438 but I intentionally chose to offer it at a fraction of that.
Why?
To make it easy for you to say YES….to yourself, to the program and to the millions of people that need your help.
And to make it even easier, I offer the option of an easy installment plan (since I know cash flow issues can be very real for some people called to this work).

What are the dates and times of the LIVE SEMESTER?
The most current dates for our live-online semester dates are always posted on on our home page for doulagivers.com. We have 3 live-online semesters a year. There is a Fall Semester starting in August or September. Then, a Winter Semester starting in January or February. Lastly, a Spring Semester starting in May. The live classes are always held on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm ET. Classes last 90-120 minutes. The semester will run for 12 full weeks. Every class will be followed by a live Q&A session led by Doulagivers Founder Suzanne B. O’Brien RN.
What happens if I cannot make all 12 live training?
No worries- We send you the replay of the live class within 24 hours so that you van listen to it at your convenience. All Live semester students will also get the FULL Self-paced classroom that is open to all students forever.
What is the difference between the live semester and the self -paced training course?
They are the exact same curriculum! Either way you choose to become a certified Doulagiver will give you the exact same education. The benefits of the live semester is the ability to ask questions live after each class and many people like to know that they have to “show up” at a set time every week. It helps them stay on track.
I see that you have two different training options, The Certified End of Life Doula Training and The Certified Doulagiver Specialist. Can you please explain the difference in the two?
The Certified End of Life Doula Training is our award winning foundational training program. It is how Doulagivers began. Since then we have seen how a positive end of life experience starts way before anyone gets there. Planning ahead can make all the difference in the world. When you plan ahead and put things in place aging and end of life can be 80%-90% better. This is why we created The Certified Doulagiver Specialist. The Doulagiver Specialist Training is comprised of three separate certifications: The Certified End of Life Doula, The Certified Doulagiver Care Consultant, and the Certified Elder Geriatric Care Doula Manager. The DS allows you to work with the elderly, do consulting with healthy adults and be in place as an end of life doula when the time comes.
How do I become a Certified End of Life Doula with Doulagivers ? What is the certification process?
There is no government licensure nationally or international for the End of Life Doula profession. Doulagivers has our own internal certification process to ensure that our Doulas have acquired the highest level of education to practice as an End of Life Doula. Our certification process includes successful completion of all course work, 30 hours of documented bedside experience with End of Life patients, and a passing grade of 85% or above on the final exam.
Are there any National Organizations supporting the End of Life Doula Profession?
Yes! IN the last two years the End of Life Doula Profession has gone mainstream both nationally and Internationally. On the national level there is( NEDA )The National End of Life Doula Alliance. NEDA is a national membership organization for all End of Life Doulas and Trainers. They also have a national badge that after completing the Doulagivers End of Life Doula Training you can take for an additional national credential. We recommend that all of our Doulas that want to practice professionally get their NEDA badge.
Once I become certified, How do I build my business? How do families find me?
We have got you covered. All Doulagivers trainings come with a complete business building and marketing package. We literally walk you through every step of setting up your new business and how to get the word out to your community. We will also list you on the Doulagivers Directory so that families can easily find you.
Can I really make a full time living as an End of Life Doula at this time?
Your end of life clients will come and go. I advocate for only working with one patient at a time so that you can support both the patient and their loved ones through the entire end of life journey. There will be times that you work more than 40 hours a week amnd times that you do not have a client. This is why I always advise potential students to become a certified Doulagiver Specialist so that they can start working right away by doing consulting work, make a great living and then care for the end of life clients as they come onto their services. The DS also allows for the Doulagiver to have incredible balance and not be consistently working in the often very emotional and stressful end of life space.
How do I know that the Doulagivers Training is right for me?
I always tell prospective students to look at two main things when choosing a training program. 1- Find out what the curriculum is and make sure that it matches what you are looking for. And two- Find out who your teacher is and what their background is. Your teacher will be your mentor- you want to like them and what they stand for.
What happens if I have a question while taking the self -paced training?
We have lead trainers available to you Monday-Friday from 9amET-5pm Et to answer any questions you may have.
After I become certified, what happens if I am working with a client and I have a question on a particular issue that I am dealing with regarding this patient?
You may still call our lead trainers and ask any question that comes up. In addition, we have created the Doulagivers Private Practitioners Facebook page where you can post a question regarding patient cases at any time of the day or night and get an immediate response. We have hundreds of highly educated practicing Doulagivers in that page that will support you as you are just starting out and beyond.
What happens if I buy the training program and decide it is just not right for me?
No problem Just contact our care team within 7 days of purchase at [email protected] and we will fully refund your money.
Where are Doulagivers working at the present time?
Doulagivers are being hired by hospices, home health agencies and also work in private practice. The projection for the future of healthcare is The Non-Medical professional. Doulagivers will be used to fill in all the gaps in care for the elderly and those at the end of life. There is an elder care crisis that is happening now and is projected to become dramatically worse for decades to come. Doulagivers are changing healthcare and providing the best holistic education for non- medical professionals that will bring the best possible care to both patients and loved ones.
